Very Vegetarian Thanksgiving |
Thanksgiving is a tradition in both the U.S. and Canada. Many of us may think of turkey as a traditional item for the family's holiday meal. When we learn more about the "original" or "first" Thanksgiving, we may be surprised to find out there may not have even been a turkey present! Not only that, but there may have been very little, if any, meat at the meal. As Thanksgiving is about being thankful, how about being thankful for bountiful foods available from the plant kingdom? A plant-based Thanksgiving can give us a delicious meal, while benefitting our health, the environment, as well as the animals not being killed to fill our plates!
